THE FACIAL is a powder-in-lotion formula that visibly transforms the skin by improving its look and feel. It refines the skin’s surface texture and leaves skin radiant and smooth.

THE FACIAL does not cause photosensitivity; however, the superficial exfoliation achieved with the formula exposes a thinner and less protected skin, leaving it more receptive to the sun. Because of this, AYUNA recommends daily use of non-chemical sun protection or avoid prolonged sun exposure while using the product to minimize the risk of sun sensitivity/sunburn.

Each person’s skin is unique; you never really know exactly how the skin will respond to a given product. This depends on several factors including the skin type, the concentration (low or high) and the frequency of use (once or twice a day or every other day). Due to the acidic exfoliation action, you may experience increased dryness of the skin during the first days of use.

However, the natural pH of the skin’s surface is, on average, below 5, which is beneficial for its resident flora. An acid pH appears to preserve the resident bacterial flora whereas an alkaline pH causes dispersal from the skin.

THE FACIAL is compatible with RETINOL (Vitamin A)/ ASCORBIC ACID (Vitamin C)/ AHA & BHA, but, when combining THE FACIAL with other products containing those ingredients, other factors that affect absorption and penetration of acids must be considered:

• Percentages of acids / pH of the product
• Frequency of use
• Thickness of the skin

However, how the combination melds depends on additional factors:

• Skin type: Effects are additive, and, therefore, an enhancement of penetration and activity can occur, which can increase the potential for discomfort or irritability of other ingredients for thinner and more delicate skins. (A patch test of the accumulated strength of the products in a small skin region is recommended.)
• Formulations of the product ingredients: The range of derivatives and delivery systems for these molecules can vary widely. Therefore, any special instructions regarding their specific compatibility with acid products should be considered.

AYUNA's Collection does not currently contain sun protection properties or formulations. Sun protection is essential for skin health and always recommended, especially when outdoors. We suggest using sunscreens containing physical filters and those that are safe for sea life. Your favorite product may be applied after CREAM I or CREAM II.

AYUNA as a brand represents the premise of eliminating toxic substances that can be harmful for the skin. To our knowledge and from our extensive ingredient research, none of the components in AYUNA products are known to represent any specific risk for the pregnancy.

The fragrance found in each of Ayuna's products, our Beautifulness Cocktail, is composed of natural essential oils. However, this combination is utilized in a low dosage that is not comparable, in any case, with the use of pure essential oils. Any specific risks involved are unknown. Given that each person's pregnancy is unique, if you have any doubts, we recommend consulting with your doctor.

When used, you’ll notice Ayuna’s signature Beautifulness scent combined with vinegar. It’s definitely unique and somewhat medicinal, but in a pleasant way.

THE FACIAL (LOW & HIGH) is an ideal treatment to help balance, exfoliate and smooth skin on a daily basis. It does not require rinsing. Your serum, oil, or moisturizer can be applied immediately after use.

It is recommended to move up and down to stronger (HIGH) or milder (LOW) formulas over time, depending on the skin condition or expert opinion.
Depending on the skin condition, THE FACIAL can be used up to twice daily, as tolerated by the skin. Reduce the frequency of use if skin becomes uncomfortable or irritated.

Cleanse and apply THE FACIAL onto face, neck and décolletée, focusing on the areas most affected by concerns. Follow by applying your usual serum and treatment cream. Regular use of THE FACIAL enhances the benefits of any treatment applied afterward.

You may start seeing results right away, but THE FACIAL must be used regularly. Within 5-14 days, the improvement is noticeable. If different results are desirable, adjust the frequency of application and/or move to a different concentration. For example:

• Thicker skin and stronger results - Up to twice a day
• Thinner skin and mild results - Down to every other day

We recommend postponing the treatment if you have sunburned or irritated skin.
If this is the first time you are using THE FACIAL, we suggest performing a sensitivity test on the back of your neck.

Avoid all contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If contact occurs, wash immediately with water.

In some cases, a momentary slight tingling may occur upon application of the product and is considered normal. Should this condition persist, remove the product with warm water.

The application of THE FACIAL in body areas is easy and effortless due to its texture and viscosity. In addition, the exfoliating agents in the formula improve skin texture on rough, dry areas where dead skin cells have accumulated (hands, elbows, knees and feet). It is also the ideal treatment for body areas affected by unbalanced sebum-secreting glands, including the back, chest, and shoulders, due to the prebiotic compounds.

We should start off by saying that Perioral Dermatitis a cutaneous pathology, and as such, requires specialized medical monitoring and treatment, especially during outbreak situations, and that its etiology depends very much on each case.

The white milky powder is our colloidal system, and it is based on fine, solid particles of acid (glutamic & succinic). These acids are partially dissolved in the solution of THE FACIAL and also visible as small particles suspended in the liquid.

The colloidal system provides a sustainable release of acids onto the skin to address pH increases caused by daily aggressions. As such, it becomes a buffer for the skin's pH balance.  With the correct application, THE FACIAL can be applied around the eye contour area,  but it is important to take special precautions to avoid contact with the eye itself.

Yes, the standard shelf life (unopened) for all Ayuna products is more than 30 months.

As Tretinoin is a medical treatment, we recommend checking with your doctor to determine if additional acids can be used as each person's case is unique.  The product is at its heart an acid and can add acidity to the regime.
